-Physical by :
-Teeth
-Tongue
-Gullet
-Stomach

Chemical by:
Enzymes in the Mouth , Stomach , Small intestine & Pancreas
(eg. Carbohydrases break down - carbohydrates)
(Proteases break down - Proteins)
(Lipases break down -Fats)

Mouth involves:
Physical Dgestion
- Chewing action of teeth : big to small pieces
Chemical Digestion
-Ptyalin-Starch to Sugars

Stomach involves :
-Physical Digestion ( Churning action of stomach)
-Chemical Digestion (Proteases - proteins to amino acids)

Small intestine involves :
-Chemical Digestion
-Protease -Proteins to amino acids
-Lipases - Fats to fatty acids + glycerol
-Carbohydrases - Carbohydrates to Simple sugars

-Digestion is completed here.
-Absorption of nutrients takes place.

Large intestine involves:
-Absorption of water & minerals


Rectum involves:
-Storage of waste temporarily

Anus:is where wastes pass out of the body
